This was the tenth Brickworld held in the Chicagoland area and the biggest thus far.
The 100,000 Square feet main hall was an enormous space to fill, but this event pulled it off!
The layout of the hall was well planned with clean wide isles running front to back with displays and a ribbon of vendors across the center of the hall running left to right.
The convention facility and hotel were exceptional!
The Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center was very clean, well laid out and had a great staff, definitely world class site for this event.
Brickfair Alabama was held for the fifth year in a row at the Birmingham Convention Center last January 13-17, 2016,
but this time it was expanded to use the full convention hall.
This is the fourth time GFLUG had displays at this event.
And the Birmingham convention center is great facility and an excellent location for this AFoL convention in the south.
Public attendance for this show seemed good once again,
with the GFLUG layout having a crowd of two or three deep around the train layout most of the day Saturday.
The Sunday crowd was not as big, but a sizeable crowd never the less.
Paul Q of GFLUG did a small solo layout at the TCA meet in Largo Florida last January 23, 2016.
His display feature a small carnival with working rides and river gorge area.
There was also a small yard area with a mix of railroad buildings.
Matt S - The LEGO Movie is a film that will simultaneously appeals to LEGO fans of all ages and those who love them. As an AFoL (Adult Fan of LEGO) and the parent of two KFoLs (Kid Fan of LEGO), I was able to enjoy the movie as both a parent and a fan. The song in the movie "Everything is Awesome!" will quickly drive parents and AFoL to the brink of insanity!
